Well, I was very bored. So surfed around the internet, came across this movie. The whole movie is about this class of highschoolers, 42 students are sleep gassed on a bus, then they were taken to this island. When the students away, they find out that all of them are fitted a “bomb”collar around their necks. The rule is simple. It is kill or be killed… There is no escape.

When my mother approached me in the morning to ask me if I would like to go to the book store, for once I gave her areply immediately. “yes!” I had an alternative motive, although I don’t like reading. I knew that there will be a lot of manga there. I took the chance to search for manga there. Even my mother felt surprised when she heard my answer.
We arrived at Bras Basah Complex, only to find that there was also a book fair held there. We glanced through the book fair, actually I did not bother about books, I went ahead to look at the manga section. The manga there were sold really cheaply, however none of thise interest me. We then went up the floor to the “Popular” bookstore. Once again, I proceeded to the manga section. Took me some time, and I picked out the manga I wanted. There are so many manga sold there and I definately be going back there for more.
Manga I bought:
Fairy Tail Volume 2 by Hiro Mashima
Fairy Tail Volume 3 by Hiro Mashima
Monster Soul Volume 1 by Hiro Mashima
Monster Soul Volume 2 by Hiro Mashima
20th century Boys Volume 4 by Naoki Urasawa
20th century Boys Volume 5 by Naoki Urasawa
20th century Boys Volume 6 by Naoki Urasawa
I bought Fairy Tail and 20th Century Boys because I am hooked on already. For monster soul, after reading Hiro Mashima’s Fairy Tail, I was so impressed by his art work that i bought another of his short series manga.
Something interesting for you guys, when I paid fot the manga, the cashier actually “less charged” 12 dollars. So I got two volumes of 20th century Boys for free. If I had known that this would happen, I should have bought more volumes..
Well, 7 more volumes of manga for me to read. This will keep me occupied for days. Till then, i would go back to the bookstore to buy more..!!

Today, my mother and I dropped by the local shopping mall (Tiong Bahru Plaza) to get a present for my cousin, Daphne whose birthday is two days away…
We walked around for a while, looking for the perfect gift. Then, we came across this shop “More than words”. It is a shop that sells plush dolls and other interesting stuff such as cups and piggy banks. After much consideration, we had decided to buy an animal theme piggy bank, one for SGD$5.90 . We were about to pay for it, when we saw an interesting-looking mushroom at the side. On closer look, I saw that the red mushroom had a USB port connected to it. It was actually a speaker and that’s what I call ‘cool’. This would be the perfect gift. My cousin would love it and we paid for it. It costs only SGD$12.90 . It’s definately worth the price. The shop assistant helped us wrap the present with wrapping paper..
Meanwhile, I walked into the “Comics Connection” store. It’s a place full of manga and anime related things. I immediately sprang into action..
I saw manga everywhere and I analyzed the book shelves from top to bottom. I wanted to buy some new manga to pass time ( I will be staying in the hospital for a day tommorow) (reason will be mentioned in the next post). I saw shonen jump such as bleach, naruto, gintama, death note, one piece and many others. However, I wanted something different. I wanted something that will get me hooked on. I turned my view towards the spot beside one piece. I saw a manga with similar drawings, but of a different name.
It was “Fairy tail”. I heard of it before and it looks cool to me. The main character looks like Luffy! I am wondering whether Hiro Mashima (author of Fairy Tail) and Eiichiro Oda (author of One piece), are they brothers? LOL
Then I saw manga on offer prices, in other words cheaper prices. Coincidentally, my eyes fell on the words “Twentieth century boys”. Also I have heard of it. It was made into a life action movie and it was shown in cinemas just last month. I have not watched the movie but I was planning to watch it soon. My expectations for it were very high as the movie broke the box office record opening of Death Note. I have not read the manga yet so i guess I will have to read the manga first so as to truly enjoy and understand the movie.
